General Inpatient Care is sometimes necessary to provide pain control and symptom management that cannot be delivered in another setting. Other examples of this type of care may include medication adjustment, observation, stabilizing treatments and crisis management.
Short-term inpatient care can be provided in participating nursing homes or skilled nursing facilities which meet special hospice standards. More commonly, it’s provided in an acute care hospital or an inpatient hospice facility.
